The course in motor development and treatment of children provides essential foundations if you work with children. You learn what motor development is, how it differs from sports or other physical activities, and also what factors influence it. You learn the basics of motion analysis, understanding how strength, balance, and coordination develop according to specific logical rules. Development also includes attention to the senses, which we also map and reflect upon. These fundamentals are crucial for anyone working with children and adolescents, regardless of the setting: open care, closed care, school, CAMHS, rehabilitation, or elsewhere. You gain practical and applicable knowledge that enables you to teach children the next steps in development, as well as a motor-neurological assessment for evaluating young children. The DCD section has been moved to a separate course.
